ANNOUNCEMENT - NEW RECERTIFICATION POLICY
FOR Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselors (CADCs) who are also a Licensed Private Practitioner The Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association, Inc. (IAODAPCA) staff and board listen to our members and try to address their concerns. IAODAPCA is now pleased to announce a change in the way CADCs, who are also Licensed Private Practitioners, will submit their continuing education units (CEUs) for recertification. Effective July 1, 2008, CADCs who are Licensed Private Practitioners, will be required to only submit ten (10) Category I alcohol and other drug abuse specific CEUs for recertification. Category II CEUs will not be required. Licensed Private Practitioner means a health care practitioner who is one of the following:
Recertification will also be contingent on continued good standing of their Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license; therefore, proof of a current license will be required and submitted with their CADC renewal every two years. This policy applies to CADCs only, since the recertification for CRADCs, CSADCs, and CMADCs is mandated by the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) | ||
