JOB TITLE: Clinical Therapist

REPORTS TO: Administrator of Clinical Programs
DUTIES: Provides direct mental health and drug abuse treatment services to clients referred under the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the U.S. Probation Office. Maintains contact with the Probation Officers, and works closely with Resident Advisors and other SA/CCC staff to ensure a well-integrated approach to the treatment and case management of clients on his/her caseload. Facilitates groups and individual sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum: CADC, Master’s degree in the Behavioral Sciences plus licensure (LCPC, LCSW), a minimum of three years strong clinical experience preferably with Corrections and/or Addictions population; Must be comfortable in functioning in the dual role of authority figure and therapist and the ability to build attitude-and-behavior changing relationships with clients who differ widely in terms of personality, education, employment skills, ethnic background and socioeconomic status; Solid experience in using cognitive behavioral interventions and structured social learning approaches to the treatment of substance abusing offenders; Strong verbal and communication skills; Must be able to pass thorough background check.
