Job Title: Addictions Counselor
Reports to: Assistant Director
Purpose: Provide Counseling for Individuals with SUD’s
Duties: Conduct Screenings and Assessments, Manage Case Load, Provide Individual Counseling, Facilitate Group Counseling, Manage Client Files, Identify problems and create goals, Setting up Aftercare Plan, Attend Weekly Staffing Sessions/Determine appropriate level of Care, Participate in staff training and staff development, Complete Other Duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree desired- Arts or Science, Social Work, Sociology, or any related field from an accredited institution. CADC Certification a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Maintain Credentials, Behave Ethically, Interview clients, review records, and confer with other professionals, Counseling clients’ in-group or individual sessions to help them to cope with any abuse problems,
Facilitate family education groups.
Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress with that of treatment goals using the DAP style.
Collaborating with team counselors to coordinate and plan treatment.
Modifying treatment plans depending on the progress in client status.
Planning and conducting programs to combat social difficulties or improve counseling and health.
Referring patients, clients, or families to community resources available for treatment or housing.
Maintain strict confidentiality.
Supervise and direct other workers providing services to patients.
Skills/Specifications: Strong desire to assist people suffering from Substance Use Disorders., Ability to gain confidence, trust and respect of the patient, Ability to maintain emotional distance from clients. Strong computer skills, Be self-directed, Knowledge of 12 step programs a must, personal recovery experience not a must,
Work Hours: Monday Thru Friday: 5:45 am -2:30 pm
Qualifications: ICB Certified (CADC), Five years-experience required in substance abuse treatment. Experience with Person Centered and Trauma Informed treatment systems of care. Experience Counseling Ex-Offenders a plus, Experience Providing supportive Services/Case Management a plus.
