Message from the Executive Director
Jessica Hayes, CRSS

Welcome to another edition of ICB News!
IAODAPCA’s Mission: To protect the public by providing competency based credentialing of Human Service professionals.
At this point in my article I hope you are wondering why I would start the Executive Director’s message with our mission statement. After all, the mission can be found in every credential application and on our website. There isn’t anything new or different about what we do or why we do it. With that said, instead of focusing on the words that are printed, I implore you to ‘see’ the words that are not printed. I believe it is of the utmost importance you notice that no where does it state “…if there is money to do so.”
IAODAPCA continues to look for ways to streamline operating costs so monies can be used to provide affordable training and education. We’ve responded to those who have had a reduction in hours or laid off entirely by offering; payment plans, inactive status, letters of verification to potential employers, and looking at each request to find the best solution to the challenges faced. We have policies in place to work with you, to keep your credentials in good standing and to keep you active in this field. Please contact us!
IAODAPCA’s Board of Directors and I continue to meet with State, National and International bodies to keep all of you, the credentialed professionals, recognized as individuals who have proven competency in your chosen profession and who make up an estimated 80% of the workforce in Illinois. Anticipating the changes that are bound to take place as Healthcare Reform is implemented over the next three years we are dedicated to being a voice at every consortium, forum and round table discussion possible to keep the credentialed professional in the forethought of those who may effect change.
Just as sure as facilities with very little operating money and no respite in sight remain committed to those in need of services, just as sure as schools will open their doors with last years’ debt remain committed to educate our youth, IAODAPCA remains committed to assisting you obtain and maintain your credentials so that you may continue to effect change in the lives of the persons you serve.
