- Theodora Binion-Taylor
- Ms. Binion-Taylor has worked in the field of
substance abuse since 1981 starting as an entry level substance abuse counseling
position on the West Side of Chicago. In 1989 Ms. Binion-Taylor joined Garfield
Counseling Center as the Executive Director. She worked with the Campaign for a
Drug Free Westside that focused on developing and carrying out plans to address
widespread open-market drug sales. She spearheaded the development of several
programs and demonstration projects targeting substance abusing women and
their children. In 1995 Ms. Binion joined the City of Chicago Department of
Public Health (CDPH), where she served as the Director of Behavioral Health
Care. Ms. Binion-Taylor presently serves as Associate Director of the Illinois
Department of Human Services, Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse.
- Jocelyn Boudreau
- Jocelyn Boudreau is the Corporate Trainer for Rosecrance Health Network
and has more than 15 years of experience in the helping professions with the last
10 years spent in the addictions field. She has provided training and consultation
services in her home state of South Carolina where along with the Prevention
Research Institute staff she trained other AODA professionals in the PRIME for
Life! DUI Curriculum.
- Trina M. Diedrich
- Trina M. Diedrich is the Mental Illness Substance Abuse Manager (MISA)
for the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Alcoholism and
Substance Abuse. Her past work includes over 12 years of experience in both private
and public non-for profit organizations. Currently she manages and monitors
all licensed and funded Mental Illness Substance Abuse treatment providers within
the DHS/DASA system. Ms. Diedrich currently serves in an advisory capacity for
the Springfield Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the Mayor’s
Taskforce on Homelessness, and the Advisory Board for Integrated Dual
Diagnosis Treatment Evidence Based Practice Grant in Illinois.
- Nanette Larson
- Nanette Larson is the Director of Recovery Support Services for the Illinois
DHS/Division of Mental Health. Ms. Larson has spent the past seven years providing
leadership and consultation to further the development of a recovery-oriented
service delivery system within the public mental health system. Ms. Larson is
a nationally recognized leader in the mental health consumer recovery movement.
- Brian Lengfelder
- Brian Lengfelder has over 13 years of experience as a substance abuse
counselor, and is currently the Program Director of Adult Services at Breaking
Free, Inc. in Aurora, IL. Mr. Lengfelder has worked with all populations in substance
abuse settings and has created a variety of interventions to deal with psychosocial
problems associated with substance abuse.
- Frank Morales
- Frank Morales has worked in DCFS, Criminal Justice, Mental Health, Drug
treatment and EAP services for thirty years. He was on the IAODAPCA task force
committee that created the recommendations for the MISA registration and has
presented MISA trainings for the Illinois MISA Institute. In his private practice he
specializes in heart centered emotional intelligence approaches that increase the
application of the alternatives to self-defeating habit patterns.
- Stella Nicholson
- Stella Nicholson is a private practitioner and president of Stella Nicholson
and Associates, where she counsels Adult Children of Alcoholics/Co-dependents,
alcoholics/addicts, couples, and specializes in the treatment of families and children.
She has worked in the addiction and mental health field since 1978. Ms.
Nicholson currently serves on the IAODAPCA Board of Directors. She is an adjunct
faculty member at National Louis University. She has lectured and taught at both
the local and national levels on various subjects. She is the author of a workbook
for adult children from alcoholic or dysfunctional families entitled, "Journey to
Recovery".
- Kenneth Osborne
- Kenneth Osborne, CEO of K.L. Osborne and Associates, has worked in the
field of addiction medicine for over 17 years. He served as Adjunct faculty at Texas
Southern University and the University of Houston and as a Training Specialist for
the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (TCADA). Mr. Osborne has
provided training and technical assistance to the Center for Substance Abuse
Treatment and the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs, providing
Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) training. He served as Project
Director for the maximum security Substance abuse facility for adjudicated adolescent
males in the District of Columbia. Mr. Osborne serves as faculty for the
National Drug Court Institute.
- Eugene Oulvey
- Eugene Oulvey is the Coordinator of Evaluation and Psychiatric
Rehabilitation Services for the Illinois Department of Human Services - Division
of Rehabilitation Services. He also serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor of
Psychiatry, SIU School of Medicine. He served as founding president and state representative
to the national board for the Illinois Chapter of IAPSRS from and on
the state board of directors of the Illinois Association of Marriage and Family
Therapists. In 1999 he was commissioned to write the summary paper on vocational
services for the national ACCESS Project on Homelessness and Mental
Illness. More recently he was selected through a national competition to serve on
the panel of authors for the federally sponsored 26th and 33rd Institutes on
Rehabilitation Issues. He has served as a trainer on Evidence-Based Supported
Employment for the Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center.
- Mark Sanders
- Mark Sanders is an international speaker in the field of addictions, whose
presentations have reached thousands throughout the United States, Europe,
Canada, and the Caribbean Islands. He is the author of several books and workbooks
geared toward helping clients recover. In 2005, he had two stories published
in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. Mark is also a successful consultant
throughout the Midwest. In 2003, he received the Professional of the Year
award from IAODAPCA.
- Randi Tolliver
- Randi Tolliver received her doctorate in clinical psychology at Northern
Illinois University. She was the recipient of a National Institute of Mental Health
Research Training Fellowship and worked extensively in the Center for the Study
of Family Violence and Sexual Assault. Currently, she works as Director of the
Illinois Co-Occurring Center for Excellence (ICOCE).
- William L. White
- William L. White is a Senior Research Consultant at Chestnut Health
Systems. He has a Master’s degree in Addiction Studies and has worked full-time
in the addictions field since 1969. He has authored or co-authored more than
270 articles, monographs, and research reports as well as thirteen books.
